The last day of the Pribina Cup 2012 competition was cancelled!
After five days of flying, the winners of the Pribina Cup 2012 are: The winner in Club class was Roman Mracek. A well know Czech glider pilot who won this year’s Pribina Cup 2012 very convincingly – by becoming a day winner every single day! Not surprisingly, Helge Liebertz from Germany came second and Lešinger Michal came third.
Wolfgang Janowitsch proved to be the best pilot in Open class. He’s won the Pribina Cup for the third time! Maraz Ales won the last competition day and, by doing this, he jumped from fourth overall to second overall closely followed by Sandhöfner Andreas who came third.
In 15m class Ramšak Sebastjan from Slovenia competed in the Pribina Cup for the fourth time and, finally, he’s won it! And he did it by quite a margin; more than 300 points ahead of 2011 European Champion Christophe Ruch who came second overall – beating Selen Sjaak who finished third overall.
In 20m double-seaters class Cvitanich Felipe won Pribina cup, followed by two Finnish pilots – Hirvola Harri and Tourula Ilkka.
Flight Challenge Cup
Right after the Pribina Cup 2012 ended, another very interesting gliding competition started in Prievidza (about 80 km from Nitra) – Flight Challenge Cup 2012. As with Nitra, it will have a very strong field of glider pilots. Even numerous times world champion Sebatian Kawa, European Champion and Pribina Cup 2012 winner Roman Mraček, FCC 2011 winner – Gerrard Dale from United Kingdom are going to compete there. The competition consists of three classes: Club, 15m and mixed class. 115 pilots altogether.
